Several outfitters provide rentals and ocean charters, as well as instruction for neophytes. Aqua Ventures, 426 W. Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant (tel. 843/884-1500), offers diving trips off the local shoreline at a cost of $70 to $100 per person. You can rent both diving and snorkeling equipment. Diving equipment costs $40 or $15 for a regulator. It's open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
